After working for Ingersoll-Rand factory direct service, an Ingersoll-Rand distributor and Air Relief, Inc, I started AlternAire in 1992. For 11 years, I operated under the name of AlternAire Compressor Services, dedicated to providing parts and repair services on large reciprocating and centrifugal compressors.
During the recession in 2003, I closed the service business. From 2003 until 2014, I worked as an outside salesman and branch manager for other compressor distributorships.
After 30 years in the compressor industry, I retired in 2014 and decided to restart AlternAire as a consulting and project management business, providing contract services as a “ready reserve technician” for compressor service companies. As a ready reserve technician, I am available to respond to my clients’ need for emergency service calls, and for long term project management that would tie up their manpower. My service experience may also provide a “lead in” for opportunities that clients may not feel comfortable undertaking. Whereas, I can work directly with and train client technicians.
